Starting Orca
It is our mission to protect the financially vulnerable. We started Orca to effectively mitigate South African fraud in a way that has not been done before. After working in both the banking industry and fintechs in SA, we soon realised the prevalence of fraud, and that most systems are unable to keep up with emerging fraud trends. With the rise of GenAI and ML, there is no better time to build simple tools to empower fraud fighters. We've been building and iterating with banks and fintechs throughout South Africa, and we believe that with the right suite of effective, nuanced tools; we can work together to make a substantial impact in the rising fraud trends affecting SMEs and financial institutions in emerging markets, and to protect the people who are impacted most.
